The retro-reflective fabric is really the heart (and most of the cost) of any LED-based system. It is extremely difficult to manufacture a reflective material that adequately rejects excess ambient light, yet illuminates efficiently, even at extreme angles. If the material is not properly designed/manufactured, or was intended for a different purpose, it won't matter what type of LED rings you use... the results will likely be poor.

Unlike some of the "off-the-shelf" reflective fabrics I tested (such as the 3M Scotchlite series, which is great for safety purposes but far too reflective for the chroma key realm), this specialized retro-reflective material offers exceptional off-angle performance and optimal color saturation. It is manufactured to exacting specifications and designed specifically for chroma key applications.

Each system comes with a 2.5m x 3m (8.2ft x 9.8ft) retro-reflective backdrop. It is pre-sewn and fully bordered with black nylon. The top several inches of the nylon has brass eyelets and a pole sleeve for the easiest possible setup.
